Birmingham-Hoover’s Business Confidence Surges in Q1 2025
The Alabama Business Confidence Index (ABCI) for Birmingham–Hoover jumped 13.4 points to 60.6 in Q1 2025—the highest since Q3 2021—signaling strong optimism for economic expansion. Business leaders anticipate growth across all six index categories, with the strongest confidence in U.S. economic conditions, industry sales and capital spending. While hiring expectations remain positive, they are more moderate compared to other indicators. Notably, this increase reflects a rebound in local business sentiment, aligning with broader economic momentum in Birmingham’s key industries.
