Walker County has a 2015 population estimate of 67,178. Walker County’s new I-22 connects Birmingham to the Midwest and will connect to Interstate 65 by next year at what will be Alabama’s largest interchange.  I-22 makes Walker County an integral component of Alabama’s interstate transportation hub and metropolitan Birmingham’s gateway to northwestern Alabama. Walker County has two branches of Bevill State Community College and the county recently witnessed success in automotive supplier development. The county’s largest city is Jasper and has a 2015 population estimate of 14,230.
