Our Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) program is for companies located in Jefferson County ranging from startups to the largest employers.

Through onsite, one-on-one visits, our economic development staff works with companies to provide information on growth opportunities and understand issues that may hinder growth for a company, while using data from our Market Intelligence team to spot larger trends in the overall local economy.

The goal of each visit is to identify expansion opportunities and potential treats while developing a strong working relationship with the existing business base. We assist them with information, resources and elationships to grow their business.

The Business Retention and Expansion program is one component of the overall economic development strategy of our combined efforts to create jobs, capital investment and better quality of life throughout the seven-county Greater Birmingham Region.
