Macy’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods and The World Games. These are just a few of the national accounts that Raheim Robinson of Dreamheim Studios has landed since forming his company two years ago.

Dreamheim Studios is a one-man shop with a network of freelancers that provide motion graphics, videography and video editing to connect brands to audiences.

Though a player on the national scene, Robinson said, it’s his goal for Dreamheim to become the key source for video in his adopted hometown of Birmingham, as he settles in as the Birmingham Business Alliance’s (BBA) “Entrepreneur in Residence.”

“I’d love to see Dreamheim Studios as a household creative name in Birmingham,” Robinson said. “If companies in Birmingham need creative services, creative direction and consulting, I want Dreamheim Studios to be the name that pops up in their head as a company that does elite work that can be trusted and is a joy for them to work with, and that they enjoy working with.”

Robinson’s office space is located within the BBA’s office suite, an opportunity that came about after a chance meeting with the BBA’s Vice President of Innovation and Technology Jon Nugent.

“Jon has definitely been a huge part in helping me take my company to the next level,” said Robinson. “He probably made one of the largest investments in Dreamheim Studios that was completely not monetary, without giving me a single dime. And from the first day I came in, [the BBA] welcomed me with open arms and was open minded and excited about me being here. [Everyone] allowed me to come in and unapologetically be myself and be comfortable here.”

Robinson relocated from his hometown of Starkville, Miss., to work for Birmingham social media agency SociallyIn. He left SociallyIn in December 2019 to pursue creating Dreamheim Studios full time.

“I’ve always had an inclination to create, and I’ve always loved building and helping businesses,” Robinson said. “So, when I dove into animation and later created Dreamheim Studios, it was the perfect blend of my passions. Now, I get to create awesome content every day with a dedicated team, and know that we are helping to push businesses forward.”
